Jaes Cafe Boston Asian Restaurant Reviews
Five of us met here for a birthday dinner. Four of us had the Pad Thai; the fifth had tempura shrimp. Tempura wished she'd joined the rest of us! Pleasant atmosphere, nice waitress who took our picture without fuss. Generally I'd say stay away from the tempura, but enjoy the Pad Thai with gusto!

8/30/05 at 2:06 pm: Jae's is by far my favorite place for pad thai and sushi. It's great for take out, but a cute little restaurant for a night out. It occupies the first floor of a brownstone on Columbus in the South End, off the beaten path of the other mainstays in the neighborhood. Their lunch menu is another way of satisfying a sushi craving at a much sweeter price.

Great place for take-out, and even better for dine-in I think. I've split the sushi-boat for 2 with a friend on a variety of occasions and its been very high quality fish each time. I'd also highly recommend the spicy tuna rolls, edemame (spelling?), and their miso soup. All great items, great waitstaff, and a fun place to go for a nice night out."

Owner Jae Chung has probably done more for Asian food in Boston than any one person, place or restaurant---Chinatown included. His Jae’s Café has its own contemporary style and an eclectic crowd to match. Equally dapper is the enormous menu, which manages to hopscotch between Korea, Thailand and Japan, even pulling off a few fusion moves as well. The sushi is swimmingly fresh and the Korean staples are assembled with intelligence. In addition, order anything vegetarian, the beautifully balanced pad thai or the delicate shu mai, and you’ll leave happy.
